Project: Entry created for Lauren Hom's "Passion to Paid" Scholarship in 2019. Although I did not win, I loved getting to showcase what my creative project would have been about had I won: FOOD.
I LOVE illustrating food. For the past few years, anybody can vouch how I get emotionally invested in illustrating food that my reaction is probably a bit insane, but my brain is simply overflowing with ideas for how to combine my love of food with my illustration skills. In 2019, I went on a quest to teach myself how to cook, and the illustrating of food intensified with my urge to want to make illustrated recipe cards of my new favorite recipes, but it hasn't stopped there: from ceramics to printmaking, from researching state foods to attempting new recipes -- illustration & food are my passions and I’ll always strive to combine the two in my work.
